We have an old dying DN3000 which we use only to run Mentor Graphics. We will need to inject $5000 to repair and upgrade this machine, and at this point I am questioning whether it is really worth it to put any money into this old machine. Unfortunately, Mentor does not yet run on Sun workstations, which we have plenty of. My question: are there any newer HP/Apollo workstations that we can purchase in the $5000-$7000 range or so that would be a better solution than fixing this old DN3000? For Mentor, we would need at least 8MB memory and a large (300MB+) hard disk. Any suggestions would be appreciated ... please respond via E-mail. -- Dave Rubin Polytechnic University drubin@polyof.poly.edu
