[comp.sys.hp] HP-VUE TERMINAL action broken under HP-UX 7.0.5 ?

wggabb@sdrc.UUCP (Rob Gabbard) (01/22/91)

Has anyone had a problem with the HP-VUE TERMINAL action not working after an
upgrade to HP-UX 7.0.5 (for '040 support) ? To check this, open up the
system_apps-terminal folder and try to run TERM_LOCAL. After clicking on it
the busy light flickers a couple of times but nothing happens. Also, any
action that uses the COMMAND-TERMINAL action (w/ OUTPUT-ONLY, etc.) doesn't
work.

I've tried renaming my .vue directory to ensure that my local customization
hadn't messed anything up but this didn't help.

This is symptomatic of an hpterm (/usr/bin/X11/hpterm) that is
NOT "vue compatible".

Suggested solution: put the hpterm that was delivered with HP-VUE
in /usr/bin/X11. The hpterm can be obtained from the VUE_RUN fileset
or from an archive (assuming an archive was done before an HP-UX
upgrade).
