HPC++ version 2.1 was *announced* in October 1990 for both S300 and S800. It is based on ATT cfront 2.1 technology and also has all of the standard HP added-value such as the unparalleled symbolic debug support for cfront C++ object-oriented features, C++ header files for HP-UX/X11/Motif, etc. Ordering data is available at the end of this posting. In addition, for S800, HPC++ 2.1 is a 'true compiler' so compile-time performance is much improved. This is another first for a ATT cfront C++ implementation. The S300 HPC++ 2.1 will still be a 'translator' in this shipment. The next 2.1 HPC++ release (as soon as possible) will of course include 'true compilers' for both S300 and S800. A translator mode is still available in the HPC++ compiler using a compile-time flag. HPC++ 2.1 for S300 and S800 has already been handed off to software manufacturing.
