Could you out there help out with the following questions? - Thanks.
1) Can the HP-DDS drives (the SCSI version) be used on Sun workstations
(or others)?
2) If (1) is a special driver required - and where can it be had?
3) Do all DDS drives (including non-HP drives) write the same format
(i.e. make it look like a mag-tape drive) so that I could create
a cpio or tar tape on a Sun and read it on a HP?
4) Can HP [3478]00's use exabyte drives (again on SCSI) - and if so are
the tapes readable on other machines (like Suns)?
The ideal situation would be that I can use the HP-IB DDS drive from an
800 and read it on a Sun SparcStation from a SCSI drive (either HP or a
third party drive).
Thanks guys,
Jules
