Are you aware that HP AMSO has been working on a "Custom" data transfer link between the Series 800 and the VMEbus? Is anyone interested in such a product? During the project we've discovered a number of "I/O Extender" applications that really don't fit this subsystem (it's not a memory mapped kind of solution), however it seems that some "data exchange" applications might work well. One application involved exchanging data with a VME based image processing system. Actually, in addition to moving data, the image processor was downloaded from the Series 800, and image processing programs were also downloaded. Some of the applications which seem to fit best are existing VMEbus systems which require higher speed data connections to the Series 800 (the link supports speeds up to 3Mb/s). I'm interested in any comments you might have on this subject. Please note that "Custom" indicates that this is not an "HP Standard Product" which means that you must make a request for a quote for HP to provide a product with this functionality.
