Hi. We have purchased an HP optical disk library and have a bit of a problem. We want to write our own device driver to control the disk changer. We found an HP publication called "Rewritable Optical Disk Library System. Technical Reference Manual" HP part no. 5959-3540. It's just what we need, EXCEPT the copy we have is missing pages 3-51 to 4-26. You guessed it, these pages describe the commands accepted by the autochanger :-( . Now the kicker. HP claims this manual does not exist !!!! Sure. So how are we supposed to use this device? Instead of relating all my frustrations over this issue, I just want to beg for help. DOES ANYONE HAVE THIS MANUAL? IF SO, CAN YOU SEND ME A COPY OF THE PAGES MENTIONED ABOVE? Can anyone out there from HP Greely Storage Division tell me how to order a manual that will describe the commands accepted by the autochanger? Thanks in advance. Ciao, Casper P. We bought a rewritable optical disk drive from HP some months ago and received no documentation at all with it. I have heard that there is some way of (1) locking the drive so that a disk cannot be manually ejected from it until the drive receives some signal; (2) sending a signal to the drive to eject the current disk. Does anyone know anything about this? A. V. Le Blanc ZLSIIAL@uk.ac.mcc.cms
