[comp.sys.hp] where is ''/usr/include/arpa/telnet.h'' ?

hm@hcshh.hcs.de (Hellmuth Michaelis) (03/29/91)

in an attempt to compile the new kermit (5A/166) with networking support,
ckucon.c wants to include <arpa/telnet.h>, which i haven't found anywhere
on our system ( an 825 running HP-UX 7.0 ).

have we lost it, or is it not part of HP-UX, where can i get it from ?

When I had this problem when porting a program to HPUX 7.0 9000/3xx
(don't even remember what program) I simply stole the files from a
nearby unsuspecting IBM 6000. That seemed to work just fine altough I
didn't check it very carefully. Since then a few header files from
that machine reside in the /usr/include directory on this machine.

It is not part of hp-ux. Since it is from BSD, it can be had. Here
it is along with ftp.h, inet.h, and nameser.h, also from BSD.

"?Que pasa, Senorita? !I am el fugitivo!"

jmc@cnd.hp.com (Jerry McCollom) (04/02/91)

In article <11613@dog.ee.lbl.gov> milburn@me10.lbl.gov (John Milburn) writes:

| It is not part of hp-ux. Since it is from BSD, it can be had. Here
| it is along with ftp.h, inet.h, and nameser.h, also from BSD.

... and, though the same as the BSD files, we finally fixed this and
included telnet.h, ftp.h, and inet.h in HP-UX 8.0.
