[comp.sys.hp] need xterm program on a hp which has no X installed at all

Carl.von.Loesch@arbi.informatik.uni-oldenburg.de (Carl v. Loesch) (04/30/91)

I'm a student.. and I work in a difficult situation where it is very
useful to startup xterm's on hosts with rexec().

I do a lot of programming etc. on a hp9000 which doesn't have any X
stuff installed at all, no libraries etc.

What chance do I have to get an xterm to work on it just the same?
Can I install it in such fashion that it reads its libs from a local
directory (~/lib ..) instead of /lib or /usr/lib?

Just asking in case there is hope
Please reply by mail.. :-)
