This question may have been bounced around before, but if so I didn't see it so I am [re]asking. I am running an HP9000/835 with HP-UX 7.0. I have a remote host I want to talk to with SLIP. How do I do this? I think I have heard that there is a way to get HP-UX to do SLIP, but never the details. Doesn't seem to be supported by HP, I checked man for ifconfig and it only mentions LAN devices. No appropos entries for SLIP... Please mail any responses to MIKE@UC780.UMD.EDU or MIKE@UC780.BITNET. Thanks! +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Michael F. It is considered unsuported. Rumour was that SLIP was to be included in 8.0. I don't know about availability on 800's. I never got a chance to try it out before I quit my old job. >Please mail any responses to MIKE@UC780.UMD.EDU or MIKE@UC780.BITNET. >Thanks! >+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ >Michael F. SLIP is supported and provided in HP-UX release 8.0 for the series 300 and 800 HP9000 computers. If you are on contractual support from HP, you will receive this software, if you have LAN and ARPA support for the series 800 or you have purchased the HP-UX bundle (PE) for series 300 machines. I have used it and it appears to work. Hope this helps.......
