[comp.sys.hp] Using the Serial Line

aharon@bnlls1.nsls.bnl.gov (Aharon Friedman) (05/18/91)

Could someone please tell me how can I access my serial line in order
to log in to another computer? The only way I was able to do it was
using Kermit from a super user account, which is not acceptable.

Hmmm. Sounds like the permissions on the serial port weren't set correctly,
which required you to be superuser to access it. Kermit itself doesn't
require superuser permissions.
