I want to connect a mac to an HP 1000 system as a terminal. Does anyone know if there is mac software equivalent to ADVLINK for the PC for this purpose. Also, is there any xmodem software out there written in FORTRAN that I can get running on the HP? I will be calling in to HP system with a Trailblazer modem which will allow fast file transfers in XMODEM... -- Jeff Parke jeffp@yoda.eecs.wsu.edu OR ...uunet!yoda.eecs.wsu.edu!jeffp Washington State University Vet Med class of '94 "older but not wiser"

Jeff, HP supplies an Advlink for Mac's product number is D2107A. It will emulate a 2397 color graphics terminal and have file transfer as well using HP advlink protocol. The HP1000 supports Advlink filetransfers but if you insist on XMODEM your local HP1000 support will have XMODEM written in Fortran. I believe the XMODEM program has been submitted to Interex as well so you might find it on one of the Interex tapes. john@hpucph Danish Response Center

Jeff, Try contacting the INTEREX Users Group at 408/739-2382 and ask for Steve Souza. I have it on good report that some vendor offers an HP 2692 terminal emulator which runs on the Mac, and that a representative of this company shows up at many INTEREX conferences. Steve may be able to help track down the company name, or may know of other offerings. Good luck! --todd Not a statement, official or otherwise, of the Hewlett Packard company.
