I have two questions about X11 and HP-UX 7.05. First, what version of X11 is provided with the 7.05 relase that HP provides/ I've tried to find out by examining our system and there doesn't seem to be any reference to a version other than a reference to a 1.4 in the X binary(which could be HP's version of X11R4 or a 1.4 version of R3). Secondly., is there any way to find out what version of X is running ona computer. Either a command (for HP/UX) or a simple program? Thanks. The HP-UX 7.05 server is X11R4. However, the libraries are still R3. The 7.05 release was for the purpose of supporting new SPUs and display hardware. This required a new X server, since display drivers are linked in. The default operation of the X server is with bug compatibility mode on, to maintain compatibility with R3 behavior. > Secondly., is there any way to find > out what version of X is running ona computer. Either a command (for HP/UX) > or a simple program? Not that I know of, since the VendorRelease function returns just that, a release number specific to the vendor.
