The other day my sister-in-law was using my c64. While she was typing in something the screen blanked out on her and has remained this way since. When I try to power it up the sreen goes gray and stays that way. I'm using a 13" t.v. and the t.v. works fine. I'm wondering if maybe my power supply went bad on me. Any suggestions? We got another working machine and started switching parts one by one until the broken machine worked. It turned out to be a bad ROM chip. I'm not sure where he eventually got another ROM for the bad machine. After we put the 'good' mahine back together, it still worked!.

The same thing happened to my 64... It turned out to be the PLA chip.
The repair bill was $25.
