[comp.sys.cbm] WESTRIDGE modem for c64

tim@starfish.UUCP (Tim Erdies) (11/21/86)

Does anyone have any information about a modem by WESTRIDGE? I bought it
for $19 from COMB liquidators for my friend's C64. The software package with it
is a simple terminal program for dialing into pay-for bbs (ie Compuserve). The
company originally marketing it was Telelink software. They couldn't help me.
All I want to do is write or get a terminal program with either kermit or
umodem built in but I need the modem programming characteristics. (I also
heard there was a VT52 term program for the C64 around here not too long
ago, if anyone has that, much appreciated.)

If anyone could help please leave me a message here in net.micro.cbm or
call me at Convergent Technologies , Parsippany NJ (201)263-1500

				Thanks much, Tim Erdies

Tim,

The Westridge modem is made by Anchor Automation in Van Nuys California.
It's a Commodore 1650 clone. There are many terminal packages out
there for Commodore compatible modems, suggest you try Compuserve or
Q-Link.

This modem is a totally dumb modem. You have to control the switch
hook and dial pulsing by poking the user port. There is probably
a pinout the interface in the back of the manual, but I don't think
you should have to re-invent the wheel.
