O.k. I know that this has been posted a little while back, but like
a fool, I didn't save the article [complete shame]. Here it goes:
My brother has a C-128. Last night we brought up CP/M, but all he
has by way of a monitor is a monochrome monitor (without sound even). So,
having read an article on how to hook up 80-columns on a monitor other than
an RGBI, I took some wires and tried to hook the monochrome monitor up to
the RGBI output of the C-128. I tried the "ground" pins (both of them)
in conjunction with the "monochrome" pins (as listed in the Commodore Users
Manual); HOWEVER, I only got a garbled picture and a very high sqeal from the
monitor.
So, here's my question: how does one hook up the monitor to the RGBI
port? I KNOW that the C-128 can be hooked through the RGBI port to a composite
video monitor and display 80-columns, but I don't remember how it is done.
I'm pretty sure it has been posted to the net, so please mail any replies to
the e-mail address below...if anyone else wants the same information, just drop
me a line and I will send the responses to them also.
Thanks in advance.
