I have a question for you Commodore Inc people. There has been press in the past in regards to lockup problems when using two 1541 drives on a C64. Well, I thought that the problems were part of my past, when I learned how to turn on the equipment so that things wouldn't lock up. But, along comes GEOS and it really aggrivates the Hell out of the serial bus, to the point where things won't come up right, and the buss will lock up when data is being transfered. Has Commodore done any hardware patches for the old white case and newer case (short board) 1541 drives or the C64 to help fix this problem? Also, I remember reading in this group that GEOS tends to show up an error in the display chip. Am I correct in this or not. If so, how do I know which chip it is, ie, date code, etc? Also, where can I get an up-to-date chip for my C64? Any and all help with these problems would be appreciated by anyone, especially Commodore people. Thanks in advance. My daughter also thanks you.
