[comp.sys.cbm] Makeing a REAL!!!! backup of the GEOS system disk!!

kev@voder.UUCP (03/13/87)

I just got off of the phone with someone at Bezerkeley Softworks'
Customer Support Service. This "service" is the biggest joke I have seen yet
in any dealings with a software company. The same person again, as in the past
cannot answer my questions. (Will the Ebson FX-80 printer driver work
with the Panasonic 1080i) This morning the question was "Why did your
Upgrade program trash my COPY PROTECTED system disk!!??!! Yeah, the one
that HAS to be used to boot the system!!!"

I was told that since the original came directly from Commodore
(packaged with a 64C), I would have to contact Commodore to get help.
B.S. (gosh that almost seems appropriate) would not lift a finger to help me.

So what I want to know from any of you out there, is there a good
piece of back-up software on the market that I can use to create an exact copy
(protection and all or maybe even stripe it off) of the system/boot disk
when I finally get a replacement. And please no flames about piriting, I
bought the, now non-functioning, software.

Do not take this as a slam against the GEOS software itself. I find it
very useful and enjoy using it. It is just the total eneptness of their
customer support that causes me get this irrate!!

Thanks for the vent and any help and/or suggestions.

     Kevin
