The upgrade ROMs are finally available. Dealers and service centers can
perform the simple upgrade for you, or you can order parts directly from
Commodore and Do It Yourself (and kiss your warranty farewell). For the
DIYers, the ROMs are socketed; I suspect the most trouble you will have is
assulting the RF shield. Good luck.
The wait was worth it, though- we got the customer price down to $21.65
(plus $3.00 shipping) for the 3-ROM set. Send a check in the amount of
$24.65 and made out to Commodore Business Machines to:
Service Department
CBM
1200 Wilson Drive
West Chester, PA 19380
Ask for the "C128 upgrade ROM kit" and include your name and address.
