From: prindle@NADC The version 2 of Kermit posted at Columbia U (CU20B in the ker: directory for you ARPA folks) is only the source code (assembly). The "m65" extension would indicate that "c64v2.m65" is source for the CROSS assembler which runs only on TOPS-20 (Decsystem 20) machines, so you can't directly assemble it on a C64. Yes, it is big, undoubtedly too big to fit on a SS floppy! It defies all logic that whoever posted this to Columbia did not include .hex and .bin files. Mark, I have yet to see a VT100 emulation for the 64 (or 128) that correctly emulates a VT100. It is quite a pain to do right; for example MICROVT 128 doesn't even come close on such issues as tab setting and wraparound handling. Thus, don't expect this one to work with a VT100 termcap right off either. However, since the binary is not available, I haven't tried it and therefore shouldn't pre-judge. It's just that the VT100 has a lot of details in it's protocol that are easy to overlook or misinterpret. Sincerely, Frank Prindle Prindle@NADC.arpa
