[comp.sys.cbm] Zenith/Sylvania screen jitters

prindle@NADC.ARPA (Frank Prindle) (12/18/87)

It is a well know fact that the C64 and VIC-20 vertical scan line count on
their video outputs cause some Zenith and Sylvania TVs to bounce the picture
up and down. I recall reading (either here or in some magazine) several years
ago that a register could be POKEd in the VIC-20 to fix this (but not in the
64).

Can anyone remember what the POKE for the VIC-20 is to fix the jitters?
***********************************************************************

I know that this can also be fixed by modifying the TV to defeat the offending
function, but this is going on a video tape to be watched by people who would
undoubtedly not want to tear apart the tube just to watch the tape! Any help
would be appreciated.

Sincerely,
Frank Prindle

Try POKE36864,PEEK(36864)AND127 to turn interlace mode on, and
POKE36864,PEEK(36864)OR128 to turn it off.
