When downloading files from Columbia, your best bet is to get the files: C64V2.HEX, C64V2.INI, C64V2.ANN, C64V2.HLP, and C64KER.DOC. This will give you the latest (Version 2) of Kermit for the 64/128. This version will do 40 columns or 80 columns on a C64, and also 80 columns on a C128 in C64 mode. Thus, it is sort of "universal". A good VT100 emulation mode is included for the 80 column modes. Watch out for the file C64V2.INI - this is a listing of a BASIC program which allows you to create the file KERMIT.INI on the same disk as KERMIT itself (which comes from dehexifying C64V2.HEX). Happy Kermiting, Frank Prindle Prindle@NADC.arpa
