[comp.sys.cbm] 2,000+ BBS numbers

Geoffrey_Welsh@watmath.waterloo.edu (02/27/88)

I have lost count of the number of people who have tried to compile
a BBS list and failed. Any list, when published, is already out of date and,
by the time it gets distributed, causes many phone calls to annoyed people
in the middle of the night.

About the best large nodelist is kept by the International FidoNet
Association (IFNA); it lists between two and three thousand BBSes and is
updated weekly and distributed to every system on the list.

For a hard copy, send $15 US to:

International FidoNet Association
c/o Leonard Mednick, MBA, CPA
700 Bishop Street, #1014
Honolulu, HI 96813-4112

or contact your local FidoNet BBS and ask for an electronic copy.

Of possibly more interest to CBM users is the current PunterNet
nodelist, which gives the details on about 50 networked C64-based BBSes
accross North America (although many are in Southern Ontario). PunterNet is
probably the largest single base of hacker-knowledge for Commodore computers.
