Thanks to chuckk@tekgen.bv.com (whom I was unable to respond directly), my GeoDex dilema has been resolved. The installation instructions forgot to mention to configure (from the Geos configure file) my drive as a 1541; silly me, I have a 1571! Anyway, it seems that the software needs to be initialized-only under a 1541 configuration, and afterwards it can be copied for working purposes onto a 1571 formatted floppy. So, here are the correct steps: 1) Load Geos. 2) Change configuration file (disk) to a 1541. 3) Open GeoDex (from the source disk, this automatically causes initialization and installation). 4) Change configuration file back to a 1571. 5) Make backups etc.... -- Mark Nagel Domain: mark@tc.fluke.COM Voice: +1 206 356 5098 UUCP: {uw-beaver,decvax!microsof,ucbvax!lbl-csam,allegra,sun}!fluke!mark Snail: John Fluke Mfg.
