[comp.sys.cbm] Ack!! Pfft!!!

    Ack!!! Pfft!!!

Prindle@nadc.arpa (Frank Prindle) found a big bug in Kermit 2.1, so
I fixed it and there is a new version available.

Those of you that have downloaded a copy already are going to have
to download it again. Sorry about wasting your time.

I dont know if I will regret it later or not, but, since only a few
people have the buggy release, I am still calling this Kermit version 2.1.
This means that the only way to tell if your copy has the bug or not is to
type:

        print peek(19401)

If you get "160" then you have the fixed copy. If you get "173"
then you have the old copy and must download the new.

If you are interested, the bug was in a routine called optimu. Under
certain conditions, this routine could slow file transfers down to 300 baud.

The following files are new, and are still available on j.cc.purdue.edu.
They will go away when the files become a part of the official Kermit
archives (except for maybe "binary", which might stay around alittle longer).

	c64ker.m65
	c64ker.hex
	binary

Please excuse me while I go to the mens room to wash the mud off my face.
