[comp.sys.cbm] C128 80-Col 2400 Baud VT100 Comm. Software Needed

glen@aecom.YU.EDU (Glen M. Marianko) (04/23/88)

I'm looking for a be-all end-all terminal program for the Commodore 128
that would have the following capabilities:

	Reliable 2400 Baud Support
	XModem File Transfer Protocol
	VT100/VT52/... Terminal Emulation
	Buffer Capture
	Phone-List Dialing
	512k Expansion RAM Support

I've looked in the public domain, but the only thing I found that
came close is Stephanie Laroche's LOBSTER - nice attempt, but the
version I have is buggy and color defaults are AWFUL on a mono monitor
(unusable w/o customization of the BASIC code).

I've heard Bobs Term Pro bounced around as a good term package.
Anyone familiar with it. Any crazy copy protection schemes on it,
like a dongle that ties up the expansion port?

Any suggestions? Many thanks.

I've gotten two different copies from two different places and both of them are buggy..
so I cant even say if the emulations actually work or not
I've given up on it.

I think Bobsterm is the BEST term program for the 128 but
alas it doesnt correctly support VT100 or VT52 something to do with memory
constraints after all the hard
work put into making this a top notch program they fell quite short
on that part.. ofr general use.. Bobsterm Pro is *WONDERFUL*,but,
for use as a vt100 term prg its awful.
Right now all I have is microvt128 which only supports 1200 baud, but,
correctly uses the vt100 sequences..

Bobsterm does use a dongle but it plugs into joystick port
number two
