I have a C64 with 1764 ram expander and RTC's 1541 express to make my drive go at an almost reasonable speed. The ram expander is compatible with the express cartridge if you have something to plug both in at once. I'm thinking about using Power C and I have a few question about it and the 1764 ram expander. 1) What is the largest program that can compile and link on the C64? 2) Does Power C have some type of optimization? From what I know it generates LOTS of object code. 3) What functions are provided (if any) for graphic and sound support? 4) What known bugs are in Power C? 5) Is Power C compatible with the 1764 ram expander on the C64? Can you compile, link and execute programs out of ram. 6) Does Power C have functions (or something) that allows you to use the ram expander as virtual memory? (whishfull thinking :-) ) 7) (Nothing to do with Power C) Why is the ramdos so slow when using 2 sequential files? (reading from one and writing to another) I find that my 1541 is faster?!? Is there an upgrade to the ramdos that corrects this problem? I have seen some of these question on the net before but I have not seen the answers. I am also interested in a good BASIC compiler that is compatible with the ram expander. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance Brian Hollander 350 Columbia St west #74 Waterloo, Ontario.
