Could someone who has figured it out please explain the format of a GEOS font file? I have been able to determine that there is a separate sequential chain for each point size, and that each point size starts of with some control information and 96 pointers corresponding to (I assume), the 95 printing ASCII characters and the "undefined" character (full height vertical line). What I can't figure out is the organization of the subsequent bitmap relative the the aforementioned pointers. I assume that "bold" and "italic" renderings are obtained by perturbing the basic bitmap for a character in a pre-defined way; is this true? Thanks, Frank Prindle Prindle@NADC.arpa
