I would like to request all help regarding the preferable modem and software

I strongly recommend that you get a generic RS-232 interface for your
C-64 and use one of the many adequate stand-alone modems on the market.
You'll get better performance than with the modems specifically made
for the C-64, and you can use it with your next computer.
