I was wondering if there is a way for a friend of mine to type a letter on a Commodore 64 and then connect to a CMU vax and insert the file into the vax and then send it and then get off of the modem as to keep the phone bill to a very minimum. What we are trying to do is comminucate using computers without paying for a phone bill. I was told that kermit is what I want to use. Is this true? If so, how do I get it, is it at a local store, etc... Thanks for any help, John Mullen .signature ????? John J. Since you're at CMU, it ought to be easy. Somebody there should have the Kermit master distribution tapes, or know how to use internet to ftp it from CU20B.
