It seems like the Commodore 64 wasn't all correctly soldered together in some areas. One mine (most likly others too) it was the power cord receptacle(sp?). After awhile of owning my 64 - just a litle push and then computer would shut off. I found out it was the power cord and thought it was just loosly attached to the computer. But now after I tooked the computer apart I found out the solder holes on the IC was not soldered good at all. In fact one wasn't soldered at all! This cause the whole receptacle to be loose and shut off the computer with a no connection in the solder places. On some of the other solderings I found out they were soldered bad and wasn't really touching the wires even thou it looked like it. I decided to resolder these holes again and it worked! I can hit my computer and throw it across the room now and it won't shut off! *grin* I posted this cause i no many other people with the same problem and it might be solved with this. -- _ | | \ UUCP e-mail: ..!{csusac,pacbell}!sactoh0!tree!asmodeus | |-< ..!csusac!tree!asmodeus |__|on |_/allard
