[comp.sys.cbm] New C64 user looking for information and advice

rhsu@topaz.rutgers.edu (Robert Hsu) (01/05/89)

Hello,

I am new to the Commodore world, and have many questions that
I hope fellow netters can help me with. I have a C64 hooked up to a TV
and a disk drive. I have had the 64 for a couple of years, but never
took much interest in it, until I got the drive and a couple of
joysticks and started playing games with it :-)

	1. I want to expand the system. Does anyone know of some good
places that have a wide selection of gadgets at rock bottom
prices? I am particularly interested in a modem and a printer.

	2. Being new to the computer, I really don't know much about
it. Has anybody put it to novel, unusual, or spectacularly
extraordinary use? This is really a question for true hackers
whose creativity will not be limited by 8 bits.

	3. Books on 6502 programming as applied to the C64, the disk
operating system, technical specifications and tricks, etc.

	4. Magazines, BBS's, User groups, special events, etc.

I welcome any comments, suggestions, or answers that you may provide
me. And although I am new to the 64, I am not new to computers, so
feel free to send technical information (the more obscure the better).
