[comp.sys.cbm] Connections for the C64 joystick

djenkins@btnix.axion.bt.co.uk (dave jenkins) (01/12/89)

Can anyone help?

I am trying to make an analogue joystick for my son's C64, but the manual
doesn't help (surprise, surprise). Can anyone translate Commodore's cryptic
codes into real information for me? What *is* A0, A1, etc ...?

I have looked in several books but no-one even tries to show how the
ordinary (switched) joysticks are connected - they obviously don't trust mere
mortals with this sort of information! Personally, I think that I'm capable
of dealing with such deep and mysterious information without wrecking the
computer (or myself). :-)

It may be best to send replies to my mail address: I'll summarise them and
post something to this newsgroup if required.

Thanks,

Dave Jenkins

P.S. Non-UK people : don't refer me to `the book by so-and-so' as I might
not be able to get hold of it!
