Imagine the scene: A floodlight stadium, packed with screaming fans (mostly French :-)): There's only five minutes to go.....you're 2-1 up in a very closely fought World Cup Semi Final with France, when the unthinkable happens: BUTCHER IS SERIOUSLY INJURED AND STRETCHERED OFF......... What do you do ???????. Do you risk not making a substitution ?.(You have one left) Do you go defensive, in the hope of clinging on to what you've got ?. Do you continue to play England's usual attractive attacking football ? :-). As the Tracksuit Manager (although I don't know why the Football League can't afford to buy their National side's manager a proper suit ie NOT Burton's or Next (for men (who can't think)) :-), perhaps it's all these cuts), it's up to you to decide. Tracksuit Manager is an excellent football stategy game. It takes a bit of time to get over some of the results sometimes, (like in the above with France winning 3-2 :-)). But if you like watching the real thing and have always thought that you could do better; as it probably says in the ad: "Here's your chance !!". I thoroughly recommend it to football fans everywhere. You can brief your team to kick the s**t out of the opposition, play the offside, or a sweeper. There is extra time, penalties, also (often at crucial times) league teams decide they won't release key players (like the real thing, I'm with you Bobby :-)); also disallowed goals, which can be a real bummer. There's a save option, and you can decide which team you want to be, although you don't have to put up with the inherent style, and can change it. You can enter our own names into the squad(anything from 30 to 100!!). The main attraction is the variety of possible teams, and option to enter your own player names. Any boredom which may arrive takes so long, that you're too busy shouting abuse at the ref, or your player who missed a vital penalty in the penalty shoot-out, to notice. I don't know what other computers TSM has been made available for. It only seems available on tape for the C64, but this doesn't matter too much, as you can go and make yourself a cup of coffee, and the World Cup will be waiting when you get back. To be more accurate, the World Cup is 4 years away, which gives you plenty of time to sort out your best side, plus a few reserves (22 in current squad). The time soon passes with friendlies against Finland, Cyprus, Malta etc. There is also the two newspapers, Daily Slag, and Sporting Knife, who can be surprisingly kind to you at times, but not too often. Advice: Steer clear of Chile, or Uruguay, just before an important game. I don't remember the software house, but it shouldn't be too hard to find. Happy managing, - Paulo. ______________________________________________________________________________ LAA/ITP/GMI UUCP : uunet!mcvax!inria!cnetlu!bullock CNET ***************************************** Route de Perros * Never argue with a fool. * 23001 Lannion * People might not know the difference. * Brittany ***************************************** ______________________________________________________________________________ Disclaimer: <<< Don't take what I say to be fact.
