Who makes the 6510/8502/6551/6581 (etc) chips that are in the c64
and c128?  I need to get chip specs, can anyone help please?

   The company has gone by a couple of names in the past: MOS Technologies, 
Commodore Semiconductor Group, perhaps more... but it all boils down to 
Commodore itself.

Commodore's Semiconductor Division, MOS Technology.  The specs for the C64
chips are in the C64 Programmer's Reference Manual, for the C128, in the
C128 Programmer's Reference Manual.

 *MOST* of the 64/128's chips are made by MOS Technologies, owned by
Commodore...so I'm assuming that if you need any really specific information
about any single chip, you would write/call them (since they watch this
group, let's hear it from the source <hint hint>)...but if you just need the
pinouts, you could look in the Commodore 64 or Commodore 128 Programmer's
Reference Guide(s)....they, along with a number of other more technically-
oriented books, contain full pinouts and information..
