[comp.sys.cbm] Zmodem on Commodores & DMA

Hank@cup.portal.com (Hank W Oxford) (03/13/89)

Greco,

Most PC BBS's use DSZ, Forsberg's version of Zmodem. If that isn't
a full implementation, then what is? And of course, any implementations
for the Commodore would include support for Commodore-necessary items.
As a side note, Portal supports ZCRCW packets.

As for Disk I/O and serial I/O not being mutually exclusive... what do you
mean "My system can.." ?? That really says alot. My systen can too.
Of course, I'm running an AT clone. A 'normally' configured Commodore
cannot do simultaneous disk and serial I/O. Some of the cheaper Tandy
PC's cannot do simultaneous disk and serial I/O because they lack
DMA support (haven't I said this already?).

Now, the question is, where'd they pick YOU up?
