First rule of computing: Don't trust your computer to an EE student, no matter how sure they are that they can build something. :-) A so-called "friend" of mine offered to build a really snazzy RS232 adapter for my C64 so I could hook it directly to my Unix box. This "friend" shorted out something on the serial port and killed the C64. Here're the symptoms (the unit is a first generation C64, the tan ones, with most of the chips socketed): Power switch on: LED comes on, the drive spins/led light comes on, screen gets a flicker from somewhere. And that's all it does. Any suggestions? -- "More ambience, less substance." J.
