[comp.sys.cbm] 1581 blues..

[Shake, rattle, and roll...]

Is there such a beast as a 1581 fast nibbler? I would like to transfer
Activision's Little Computer People to the 1581, but all I have are
file copiers. (It IS a legit copy!) I have removed the protection with LCP
HOTEL, so I don't need a heavy duty nibbler. Perhaps it isn't even
possible to do this.

Thanks!

I have read recently on GENIE that any authorized Commodore service center
should replace the chips in your 1581 for free. I'm assuming that you are
talking about upgrading bug ridden chips with the new debugged chips. If so,
are you sure that you have the old version? Only the a few of the first 1581's
were shipped with the bad chips. I have a program that will check which
revision you have. ---Reference the first sentence, this is regardless of your
drive being in or out of warrenty.
