[comp.sys.cbm] burstloader for c64 &1571/81

po87553@tut.fi (Ojala Pasi Juhani) (08/10/89)

Here it comes at last.. You may have forgotten all about me, but it
really doen't matter. Have fun if possible..

Burst loader by Pasi Ojala 1989 for 1571&1581 drives
------------------------------------------------------

All you need is this programm and two wires from serial port
to user port. These wires may be connected internally if
you are using a c64. A switch is needed if you are using 128
in 64-mode.

You have to connect:

serial SRQ (pin 1) ----- CNT1 (pin 4) user
 port DATA (pin 5) ----- SP1 (pin 5) port

To get started

1) load"burst51700",8,1
2) sys51700

Now you have a working burstloader in your machine.
If you use normal load-command, it uses burst-routines,
but my routine uses the normal loader (which was
installed when sys51700 was given) when the program name
starts with a $-sign or its second character is a :

Examples
load"$",8 loads the directory (normal load)
load"0:program",9 loads program with normal load
load"faster",9 loads with burst

Special features:

- Waits if rs-transmission is on (added for my own needs)
- May confuse IRQ-rate if it is changed by user
- Allows 1541-fastload in the same time (first activate 1541-load
					 then burstload)
- Can be used with two different drives bu using drive numbers for non-
      burst drive
- It is just over one page in memory

NOTICE!!!:
If you have any difficulties using burst51700, please mail:
