Just my 2 cents worth: There is one anonymous FTP site that has a Commodore directory. Tolsun [128.214.5.6] However, it might be nice to have another site devoted to the C-64/128 etc. I like the idea of having sub-directories for sources, binaries, hardware questions, and software questions, as well as an archive of comp.sys.cbm postings. I found this one by accident, but if anyone has ever ftp'ed over there,
(it being in finland I think) it seems slow. Also, I think it more or
less is not an 'archive' type place of frequently requested items. This
is what I feel is needed. Comments? Suggestions?

Does everyone like this idea? It seems logical to me, anyone have any
better ideas?

Since all access to the archive is via email, there is no need for ftp access, which is a boon for both the host system mgr. & those who don't want to mess with ftp to remote sites. Perhaps we can get someone to set up such a site for 64/128 users. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Richard Neitzel National Center For Atmospheric Research Box 3000 Boulder, CO 80307-3000 303-497-2057 thor@thor.ucar.edu (ok, ok, it's a 19th century dialect of Norse) Torren med sitt skjegg Thor with the beard lokkar borni under sole-vegg calls the children to the sunny wall Gjo'i med sitt shinn Gjo with the pelts jagar borni inn. chases the children in. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
