[comp.sys.cbm] Anonymous FTP sites for C-64/128

pjl@ms.uky.edu (Paul Linton) (08/31/89)

Sorry this took a while to reply. I wanted to wait a bit for anyone
out there that is as back logged as I am in news.

Anyway, I received a few letters, and read a few postings, but overall
I don't see very many people interested in such a site.

Sorry folks,

    Paul

We didn't know you were actually counting the number of
reponse that you were getting in regards to the anonymous
FTP site. If we had known it, I am sure you would have
gotten a lot more response. It is obious the usefulness of having
such a site for effective distributing PD softwares and sharewares
among the commodore users.

Therefore, could you give us another chance? :)

simon@ms.uky.edu (G. Simon Gales) (09/07/89)

I for one would love to see a cbm archive site. The subject has
been discussed so many times and dropped, most people are probably
just skipping these articles...

I didn't know either. I'm all for a one-stop c64 archive site.

Many articles have contained one-liners such as:
>One more YES vote for a one-stop cbm ftp archive site.

But I don't see anyone volunteering to PAY (or otherwise commit)
FOR THE STORAGE SPACE! Any "deep pockets" out there? I'm not one,
and my organization definitely won't pay for anything (except maybe
to throw more money after a losing football team)!

Perhaps Commodore could alot a few megs on their machine as an archive.

Is anyone at Commodore listening...
