Could someone please give me some info on Quantum Link? I'm from Richmond Hill (lets just say Toronto) Ontario. From what I remember from a while back, it is about $13 a month, not including DataPak. What things do you get for the monthly fee, and what are some of the extras you can get (for eg: Geos), and how much more is it? Alex Burger --- * Via ProDoor 3.01R

Plus Time includes almost everything except reading instructions and menus in some areas. Email is plus time, everything interactive is PlusTime, as are uploading, downloading, and reading of descriptions. PlusTime costs an extra $4.80 per hour after the first hour is over - at least, that is the price that comes to mind. There are many areas on QuantumLink, each for a different facet of the 64. And yes, there is an area especially for Geos. This is very useful if you wish to quote extensively from the Encyclopedia. >There are many areas on QuantumLink, each for a different facet of the 64. >And yes, there is an area especially for Geos. Recently they have significantly improved the system by adding a 'search' facility to the libraries. My evaluation: 1) Qlink offers a Commodore only environment with extensive libraries 2) With an active Geos community it is a great source for tools and tips 3) The Encyclopedia is a good source of data The downside is 1)you always have to pay $10 bucks, even if you don't log on for a month. 2) the menu driven system is a pain if you are an experienced user. 3) it would be nice to up/download mail (instead of doing all editing on line) Just my $.02. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- "We know only the strong will survive, But the meek will inherit. I'm going to be on Qlink in about a week or so. Wow, Qlink actually lets you read instructions and menus for free! Boy, aren't they nice! Oh well, that is not going to change my mind about logging on. One more question. Do you, or anyone else know how to use the GVC Super Modem 1200 with Qlink? I can use 'Other Command Driven Modems', but I want to be able to have it dial itself. Hayes or Hayes-compat don't work, and neither does the 1670 setup. I noticed that when I select Hayes, my TR light goes off. If I shut the modem off, and then turn it back on, it will dial (???). Any suggestions on how to make it work? Alex --- * Via ProDoor 3.1aR
