The phone line went out after a strong rainstorm about two months ago and it was while the board was down that I began to realize how much time I had been putting into it. The board came under my care after Stew Martin left the Toronto area to persue a new career direction and was so unable to keep it going. I had enjoyed using C-Power and had enjoyed the board very much and when there appeared to be no one else to keep it running I offered to give it a try. I am not, nor have I ever been, affiliated in any way with Proline Software and I took on the board because of my interest in the compiler. My life is taking different directions and operating the board is no longer viable for me. I think it is too bad that Brian Hilchie is not providing support for what is an excellent and still very useable product. I had hoped that perhaps he might have allowed us to distribute the compiler as 'shareware' or even as 'freeware' since he no longer appeared to have an interest in it. He has not been in touch with the board for about two years and I don't think that even Stew Martin was ever able to locate him. It is my understanding that the folks at Proline Software were very unhappy about the lack of support which Spinnaker gave the product under the Power-C label and when the agreement between them was terminated about a year ago that pretty well spelled the end of the compiler. It is my intention to make all of the files and the information in the message base available here on Canada Remote Systems in Toronto so that these are not lost to people who still have a use for them. If there is some other location where these should be posted I would be willing to try to pass them along although I should say now that I am not in a position to start sending these out to individuals. If you have questions about C-Power please feel free to post questions here as I do monitor the mail on a regular basis. --Regards! Ben Pedersen, Sysop, C-Power BBS --Regards! --- * QDeLuxe 1.10 #2134
