<Do we really need line eaters?> Hi, I am having some problems with my 1902A. (It is a nice monitor, but...) after some use, the picture slowly fades away. And a sharp hit to the side, sometimes, fixes it. And after I turn it off, and wait for a while, the monitor starts working again. Does anybody out there had the same problems? Any help would be appreciated... Alejandro Liu acliu%skat@usc.edu acliu@skat.usc.edu (Simple .signature, $CHEAP$)

Sounds like the filament of the picture tube is going out. The filament voltage is supplied by the high voltage transformer. Check closely on the bottom side of the printed circuit board, in the area of where the transformer pins are solderd, for a loose solder connection. Some of the 1902A monitors were made by NAP (Magnavox) and poor soldering was a very common problem. Bob Hahn tippy!bah@newton.physics.purdue.edu
