Does anyone out there have a copy of the improved "NX10NLQ-2.1" Geos printer
driver they could put on a disk and mail to me? I of course will reimburse
for the cost of the disk and postage.

Thanks in advance.

Could someone merely post these drivers? They are short and
shouldn't cause problems for anyone's site. Or alternately how about
uuencoding the driver and mailing it to people who want it?

Good ideas, no?

P.S. The driver was the NX10NLQ-2.1

Does anyone have experience printing with a Star NX-1000 Printer?
Which driver would best would for that, since even the GEOS 2.0 does
not have a driver listed. I haven't had time to try out for the best
compatible but could NX-10 or NQ-10 work properly?

I am using a Xetex Regular Printer interface.

I recenlty bought an Epson LQ-1000 (not LQ-1000) and have a few questions
regarding using it with GEOS. As soon as I got the printer, I did a
test to determine which of the many compatible printer drivers provided the
best output. I found three (Epson LQ-1500, Star NB-15, Epson LX-80) that
provide superior output. However, none of them performed perfectly. I was told
to get a copy of PrintDriverPatcher by George Wells. This program looks like
what I need, but the documentation proved next to useless. Is there anyone
out there who knows about printer drivers and who could tell me how I
could go about patching these drivers? This is what I would like to do:

- Set the page length of the LX-80 driver to that of the LQ-1500 driver.
- Change the NLQ control codes (escape codes for bold, italics, subscript,
superscript, etc.) for all 3 drivers.
- Whenever I print in High Quality mode with the NB-15 driver, it reduces
everything to about 1/2 of its normal size. Does anyone know how I could
go about turning the reduction off?
- Finally, how can I create a LaserMatrix driver compatible with the
  LQ-1500 driver?

Thanks in advance,
Ben Wildasin

And yes, I would vote in favor of a comp.binaries.cbm. And how about a
comp.os.geos?
