[comp.sys.cbm] 64K VDC and CAD info

To all of you 128 users out there I have 2 burning questions:

First, is it possible to, on an older 128, upgrade the 16K of video
ram to 64K like the 128D. could the 16K (4116?) RAM chip used by the
80 col video chip simply be removed and the 64K (4164?) RAM chip soldered
in it's place? Right now one of my 128's is apart as I've just
replaced a couple of bad RAM chips (elswhere in the system) but before
I put it back together or try this I was wondering if anyone had
similar experience, suggestions, WARNINGS, comments etc. (after all
if it 'aint broke don't fix it!)

Second: I know of 3 or so CAD programs for the 128 but am looking
for recomendations. I don't own any but am considering Homebuilder
or Homedesigner or something to that effect. I also believe ABACUS
has a 64 AND 128 (128 mode) CAD program and so does another vendor
whose name escapes me. what I am interested in is this:

   - Use of the 80 col chip with graphics(640x200).
   - Runs in 2MHz FAST mode.
   - Mouse driven (1351)
   - Compatible with many printers includeing both 1526 and 801
along with popular non-commodore parallel printers.
   - Takes advantage of the added 64K of video ram in 128Ds
(thats why I'm considering the 64K upgrade above)
   - Compatible with the 1581 drive.
   - Supports standard CAD features such as dimension, zoom,
layering, etc, that are useful with architectural
floorplans, etc mostly 2D but some 3D stuff

   - Addition niceties though not neccessary: support for
plotter and or digitizer? (I'm asking for too much right?)

Anyhoooo If anybody can give me any information - much thanks in
advance. This may be of enough general interest that I'll post
informative answers
