I am new to keyboards and MIDI and am thinking about purchasing a computer to do sequencing, patch editing, filing etc. I was wondering if those who use a C64 or C128 could tell me about their setups. Information I am interested in are whose MIDI interface are you using, what software do you recommend, and what would be reasonable costs to pay to set up such a system? Any products/pitfalls to avoid? I have also been considering using the atari 1040ST and since I posted a similar request to the atari newsgroup, I wanted to hear from commodore owners as well. I would most likely dedicate the computer to the studio setup, so non-musical features like which is better for word-processing, etc, would not be a deciding factor.
