I am still looking for a program to format my D9060. The only response I got was from someone who told me that they are self-formatting. I have an application note which says that after serial number X, the new ROMS will take almost an hour to complete the NEW0: command. I do not know what serial number drive these boards came out of. I have an Apple II power supply, a homemade power harness, D9060 boards and cables from one source and a Tandon T602S from another source. When I try to execute the N0:, the drive access light comes on, the heads do *not* step, and after a few minutes, the drive flashes the error light 11 times, which the documentation indicates is an internal condition brought about by too many bad sectors. The disk surface is perfect; the test sheet from the lab says that there are no errors, and when I formatted and tested it on a PC controller, I found no errors either. Is there any way to format a hard drive on a PC controller with 32 sectors of 256 bytes rather than the IBM standard of 17 sectors of 512 bytes? Does anyone have an old service department test diskette for the D9060. I have at home a 2031, 4040, and 8050, but not an 8250. I think I can read most floppy formats. I can also ftp/kermit arc'ed or uuencoded software. Please respond if you can be of any help! Thanks again in advance, -ethan -- Ethan R.
