[comp.sys.cbm] 1670 modem and kermit

thw9759@ultb.isc.rit.edu (T.H. White) (01/04/90)

I have a commodore 1670 modem and am trying to get Columbia's kermit (v2)
running on it.

I got it up and running and have the kermit-65> prompt. So I type
connect and type the HAYES ATE and ATDT commands and connect to a host.

I have tried the following hosts: VAX/VMS, Ultrix, SUN-OS, System V.
None work.

I get all kinds of half garbled crap on the screen. I have tried every
different combination of the parameters (like parity, stop-bits, etc...)

Nothing works...

I have been using the VT52 emulator and have been for 4 years. It works
just fine. I cannot get the VT100 emulator to function under kermitv2 though.

Is there anyone who has it running or has at least tried to get it running??

I need help REAL bad. Any help would be appreciated....

Thank you.

I use kermitv1 and kermitv2 with a 1670 modem to connect to an Ultrix
machine. I have never had any problems. I get good VT100 emulation and
can download/upload fine (but slow). I use the default parameters for
both kermits. Maybe you just have a bad kermit program. (i.e corrupt)
