[comp.sys.cbm] Printing ASCII files via 128

cloos@batcomputer.tn.cornell.edu (James H. Cloos Jr.) (01/07/90)

Any help that can be provided in the following is appreciated:

I'm using a Super Graphics interface by Xetec between a 128 and a Epson
compatable printer (Made by CItoh). I'm downloading some ASCII files using
the VT100 emulator that came with the 1670, and want to print them out. My
problem is that, even in the basic pet-ascii mode, the interface insists on
replacing _, {, }, |, nad ~ characters with the grphic codes that print out
the pet equivs of those ascii codes. (ie backarrow, graphics chars, and up
arrows).

Is thee any way to get just the letters [a-zA-Z] transposed to [A-Za-z]
short of doing the transposition on the mainframe side before dling them?
(In theory, after such a change, I'd be able to use transparent mode.

Of course, getting the ascii files dled w/o change would work too, but I
can't use xmodem as I'm going thru a SYTEK system (read 7 bits only).

As I said, any tips are appreciated (other than get Kermit :-).
