Sorry I couldn't reply to your message directly, but I don't know how
to use the VI editor yet.. heheh I just tried mail, but it didn't get thru
so here's the file

One reason the C64 cannot use any IBM floppy drives is because the Commodore 64
uses the DOS that is built into the drive itself, that's why the 64 is cheaper
than the average disk drive for it.

1541 5.25 Floppy Most widely used (170k)
1571 5.25 Floppy Popular with the 128 (360k)
1581 3.5 drive the fastest 'floppy' drive for the 64 (880k)

There are a few different hard drives that are simply Seagates that have
hardware to make it compatiable with the c64.. but they are very expensive..
Usually around $600 or more for a 20 or 40 meg.. not sure...

The best program I found that copies disks protected or not is any version of
Maverick (preferably a new one I guess).. I don't have the address or
telephone number for the company, the name of the company is Software Support
International..

The best display of graphics and sound you will see for the 64 are probably
found on demos written by pirates. These are 'shows' that REALLY pull off the
capablities of the 64 and then some.. There are some games of course that show
what the 64 can do.. but I don't know which one I could recommend heheheh...
The 64's sound is the best part of the computer.. especially if you compare it
to the IBM's 1 voice beeping little speaker that has no on and off switch.. Of
course you can get a sound board if you don't mind losing some $$$...

Good Luck!
